Hey there, I believe Starcher personal brand strategist and video lead generation expert. And today I want to talk with you about a really critical piece of building your personal brand, which is how to clarify your brand’s uniqueness. And this is so important because today it’s not enough to just be better than somebody else. You know, there’s always going to be somebody who is better than you, and there’s probably always going to be somebody who’s worse than you at what you do.
Sally Hogshead has a great quote. She says different is better than better. And the key to rising above the noise today and having your brand message heard and seen and making your personal brand known is figuring out how are you different? How are you unique to pull another quote for you as Larry Winget says, he says the key is to find your uniqueness and exploited in the service of others and figuring out what your uniqueness is, is something that my team and I at brand builders group do all day every day for our clients.

EA: (01:18)
And it can be really hard to figure out on your own, but it’s something that I wanted to share with you. Just a couple of different ways you could go about figuring out the first step is you’ve got to clarify, what is your uniqueness? Then once you’re clear on that, you have to articulate it.

And then the third step is you have to actually live it out in your brand values and actions, but how do we even begin to clarify if we’re not sure what it is yet? Well, a couple things you could think about in terms of figuring out how you are different, how you are unique. One is, is there a unique way in which you see the world or a unique perspective you have on a problem that you solve? For example, with my personal brand, one of the problems that I solve is insecurity the insecurity for people to step up and be visible.

EA: (02:02)
And my perspective, my solution on it is actually generosity. It’s giving more of yourself because when you’re focused on giving and being generous, you can’t actually feel that fear, that insecurity that comes when you’re self focused. So for me, my personal brand uniqueness is generosity, or it could even be a unique way that you go to the market.

For example, for our team, as a company, something that we do a little bit differently, we’re in a world where there’s a lot of people who have courses and virtual trainings, and it’s not that we don’t have those, but our core service offering is actually a done with you model, where you’re not alone, trying to figure out how to build your brand. And you’re actually working with someone who can reflect back and give you feedback and help you find the solution. So that you’re not on your own sitting in front of your computer screen, trying to take another course and figure this out.

EA: (02:49)
So it could be a unique way that you’d have your business model as well. It’s a little bit different, but figuring out your uniqueness is such a critical piece to building brand. And again, once you’re clear on that, once you clarify your uniqueness, then you’ve got to articulate it in your messaging and marketing. And you’ve also got to live it as well, live it out so that people really see it and feel it from you.

So I hope that was helpful to you. Um, if you want additional support in this area and want to figure out what in the world is my uniqueness and how can I use it to serve other people. You can always get a free call with a member of my team to help you really figure out how would you go about doing that? And how would you build out the roadmap and the blueprint for building your brand and determining your uniqueness.

EA: (03:33)
And you can get signed up for that. Call it free brand called.com/ea again, free brand called.com/va. But other than that, I hope this was helpful and of service to you. If you get signed up for the call, can’t wait to hear how it goes and let me know what questions you have in the comments below and what you want to see more video content on.

I’m doing these twice a week. I want to be here to serve you and help you and answer your questions on building your brand or growing your confidence on video. All right, I look forward to seeing you with our next video. Bye for now.
